Insight extraction: Questo

This routine reads the work Questo itself has already produced (finished tasks, their outputs and the files agents wrote) and saves the facts that work established as insights.

Why it exists

A research task finishes, an output is written, and the finding is trapped inside a document. Next week's plan has no idea it exists unless someone reads it and re-enters the point. This routine makes what the agent learned reusable: a benchmark, a pricing page, a constraint discovered along the way becomes a line the plan can read.

What it does

It walks your finished tasks since the last scan and reads the outputs and sandbox files attached to them, plus any other recently changed output. Embedded artifacts are opened too, because the substance of a deliverable is often in the file rather than the prose around it.

From those it captures a claim only when it is durable, reusable and traceable to something outside Questo:

  • a benchmark, number or comparison the work established;
  • a finding a piece of research surfaced;
  • a constraint or limitation discovered along the way;
  • customer or market signal the work uncovered;
  • a decision or learning the work commits the team to.

Provenance is the whole job

Every source this routine can reach was written by an agent. The risk is an agent's own conclusions being laundered back in as fresh signal, so the test is not who wrote the text but where the fact came from. It captures a claim only when the text itself shows an origin outside Questo: a page that was fetched, a number read out of an uploaded file, something a customer or you actually said.

So it skips:

  • what the agent reasoned its way to rather than read;
  • a named analyst, competitor figure or customer that nothing in reach actually carries;
  • a restatement that the agent wrote a report;
  • anything already captured, including a claim a mission update already states. It never extracts from a mission update's own text.

Each insight points at the output or file it came from. That attachment is also how the next run knows not to read the same document twice.

What you see

Insights appear on the Insights page with the source Questo and a link to the output or file behind them. Nothing lands in your inbox. They feed the next mission planning run like any other insight.

When it runs

Weekdays, in the late afternoon, alongside the connected-tool extractors and before insight request.

Tuning it

There is nothing to configure, and no integration is needed. The quality of what it captures follows the quality of the work: tasks that cite their sources produce insights, tasks that only opine do not. If you want a fact captured, make sure the output shows where it came from.
