Integrations

Connecting a tool gives the agent material to read, a place to publish, or a way to reach you outside Questo. Connections live in Settings > Integrations.

What a connection does

A connection does one or more of four things:

  • Read. Questo reads the tool for signal. Each tool it reads gets its own insight extraction routine, and the agent can look things up there during a chat or task.
  • Publish. The tool becomes a place outputs can go. See Publishing.
  • Pick. You choose specific pages or files the agent may open, and nothing else.
  • Act. Questo works inside the tool itself, like answering an @Questo mention in Slack or sending your inbox as Slack messages.

Reading is the quiet payoff, and it is easy to miss because nothing announces it. A decision made in a Slack thread on Tuesday shows up as context in Wednesday's plan, without anyone writing it down.

Disconnecting a tool removes its extraction routine. The insights it already captured stay: they are yours now, not the integration's.

The catalogue

Settings lists your Connected integrations, the ones Available to connect, and the ones On request. Each card says whether Questo reads, writes or both, and how mature the integration is: Early access, Beta or Stable.

What it is for Tools
Read for insights Slack Insights, Notion, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Analytics, Reddit, HubSpot, Salesforce, Linear, Trello, Intercom, Gong, Mailchimp, Zendesk, Calendly, Stripe, Typeform, Airtable
Read public profiles LinkedIn, Instagram
Publish GitHub publishing, Webflow, Gmail, Mailchimp, Loops, LinkedIn publishing, Slack Agent, Notion
Pick pages or files Notion pages, Google Drive files
Work in Slack Slack Inbox, Slack Agent

Some tools appear in more than one row because one connection does several jobs. Most connect by signing in to the tool. Loops asks you to paste a key from your Loops settings.

Tools listed On request are not available yet. Press Request and we will be in touch.

Slack is three separate apps

Questo connects to Slack through three independent apps. Connecting one does not connect the others, and there is no single "connect Slack" that does everything.

This trips people up often enough to be worth stating flatly: if you connected Slack and something Slack-related is not working, check whether you connected the app that does it.

  • Slack Insights searches and reads your channels so what your team discussed becomes context. It is read-only and never posts.
  • Slack Inbox sends your inbox cards to you as Slack direct messages you can act on. Under Inbox mirroring you choose which kinds of card are sent. Plans and questions can be decided straight from the message.
  • Slack Agent lets anyone in your Questo workspace mention @Questo in a channel and get an answer with your workspace's full context, and lets you publish outputs into a channel. The agent works as whoever mentioned it, matched by the email on their Slack profile; anyone else gets a short reply explaining why nothing happened.

A Slack connection belongs to a Slack workspace, not to a person. If your company uses more than one Slack workspace, each one is connected separately. A colleague connecting the same app to the same workspace joins what is already there.

Pick pages, or connect everything

Notion and Google Drive can be connected two ways.

Connect everything (Notion, Google Drive) lets the agent search everything you can see there, and adds an extraction routine that reads it for signal. Use it when you want the agent to go looking.

Pick pages or files (Notion pages, Google Drive files) lets Questo open only the pages you choose, and nothing else in that workspace. Each one becomes a URL in your knowledge base that the agent reads live. Use it when you know which documents matter. See Private pages from Notion and Google Drive.

To withdraw picked access entirely, disconnect Notion pages or Google Drive files here, then remove Questo under Settings > Connections in Notion or under third-party access in your Google account.

Personal connections

Most connections belong to the workspace: one person connects, everyone benefits. LinkedIn publishing is the exception. Each teammate connects their own, because a personal profile is posted to with that person's login, and only they can post to it.

When a connection breaks

A login can expire or be revoked. When that happens, a red dot appears on Integrations in the settings menu, and the integration offers to reconnect. A tool that is briefly unreachable does not stop the agent; it works without it and tries again later. If a publish depends on the broken connection, its card says so.

Built-in capabilities

Web search and image generation are not integrations. They are built into the agent and switched on or off in Settings > Capabilities. See Settings.
